Eyes Burning Red! See the Fire Within!
Wow. What an amazing week it has been. The Rundown, Monday I perform mindblowing freestyles at SinSin and ride the vibe with the XO band. Plus I made a new friend Eduardo at the EO Agency, and catch up with worldwide festival producer Yona Backer, super entrepreneurJeff Kohutka, and my boy the Essence of cool Trini Rich at L'Elephant off of 1st and 1st. Followed by The Good Spot @ 105 Riv, but that was just for ahot minute and to show my face went home early around 2:30AM (that party bumps til 4AM). That was just the night time! I was out working on deals all day for Urbindy Omnimedia and the finance company. Crazy stuff.
Tuesday: Came home, 4AM. Couldnt sleep, still energized, wrote my blog, began looking at the days work. Wrote letters to prospective clients and began planning for the private art sale on Thursday. Called Switzerland in the AM. Decent convo. Change clothes, wash up for the new day of business. Manage to make an eight foot window break using nothing but my mind! Not really though. Go in to the city, Harlem proper. Victory Square, poly with my man Africa Black. Talking about extending some custom business overseas. On to the next. Run in to my boy Illspokinn and Why-G over by Union Square. Visit Yoga to the people. Gotta get my kundalini aligned properly. Catch 10 indie shorts @ DROM and meet up with Tiff and S.Gilles Star Barber.
Wednesday: Go to help my best friend JP. Film a documentary on his family. COMPLETELY CRASH due to exhaustion and not having slept since SUNDAY NIGHT! Wake up, prep for Private Art Dealing at MoCADA. Run in to my homeboy Abdou Dia ON 125, who is a manager at YSL. Great folks. Meet up with a street cat selling a 30-Day Metrocard for a$40. I get him down to a DOLLAR-A-DAY! $30! Cant pass THAT up! Visit my homies who keep thnigs in order Ant Note and 'em. We build and link up on the next creamscheme for our team. Art fro mthe heart, media makers, MITs. Moguls In Trainin. FX large checks, direct effects, that's what's next. In the gym, in the board room and on the ave holding my weight and more!
Thursday: Woke up early! Wrote a blog! Conference called appointments for the Art show at MoCADA! Made it happen. Meet with Cannon at MoCADA. Make deals.Go to Note's studio for photoshoot part one. back to the lab. Get that rest
Friday: Woke up early AGAIN! Wrote this blog! And th beat dont stop you've gotta keep on! I feel like the living breathing definition of ambition. How do you feel? Let me know, good peoples!

I Know What I Want. DO YOU?
So here comes another day of me grinding away to achieve the fulfillment, my personal destiny.
Essentially, a brother like Lex has been doing his damnedest to achieve the realization of his entrepreneurial, spiritual, and mental growth. This is a daily practice, its not an intermittent type of hobby y'all success is a constant pursuit it DOES NOT HAPPEN BY HALVES. As Big Daddy Kane said... AINT NO HALF-STEPPIN'! ANd that was some of the best advice ever proffered in the history of hiphop.
So the moral of the story kids is to not only make your goals, but to make your life's work the attainment and continual pursuit of your best self! And NO its not just for you Mr.?Ms. Selfish. Its actually in the service of humanity and making this place called Earth just that much better for your having been here. You haven't got long so you'd better get crackin' each of our lives is a veritable nanosecond when placed within the context of the existence and history of life on earth and even more so in the cosmos at large. Here's the Point, good peoples!
YOU HAD BETTER GET YOUR REAR IN GEAR MAN! GET CRACKING! WHAT?! DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GONNA LIVE FOREVER? DO THE DAN THING TODAY NOW! PLAN IT AND GO FOR IT... AND DONT SPEND YOUR LIFE JUST PLANNING. THATS JUST SAD. JUST DO IT!
(I may as well throw in a shameless plug for Nike here as it seems that my piece today basically comes down to their well-known ubiquitous quote. I always have loved Nike's ad sensibility. So... Young & Rubicam! Holler at the Lexplosive One, man! This is the Lexplosive! Not the Salvation Army! Meanwhile back at the blog...)
Know what you want and go get it. Be Relentless. Thats it. (Hmmm now I sound like The Pursuit of Happyness. Oh well! There are worse charges to be guilty of, truly.)
Coming up next ON LEXPLOSIVE??? Confessions of an Insomniac Workaholic!
Holleration shall commence forthwith!
Stay Freshwitted, Good Peoples!

NO Rest For the Wicked... Why I Know I'm One BadMan.
Have not slept for 38 hrs. Still went to work, made appointments and hit gym. Did I mention I also went off at a tenant over an overt act of disrespect?
Open Question: Anybody in the audience ever put a fist through sn8-Foot tall inch thick glass?
Not that I have or haven't. I'm just asking.
OK! Here comes the 39th hour! And did I mention the fact that I still got today's blog done and promoted the international media coalition that I founded called Urbindy [Urban Independents]? No, I hadn't brought it up huh? Well that's funny, because it was a majorly crazy intense, insanely productive day. I learned a lotabout myself, and I now share that self-knowledge with you!
That's all for now.
Getit's Gotta Go!

My Favorite Hood? The Brotherhood!
Lex Getit IS IN the blogging! And things will never be the same!
So lets get in to it. I got to hang out with two of my blood brothers yesterday and man was that fun! Ridiculous overflowing buckets of fraternal hilarity, recounting hi-jinks, watching March Madness and NBA basketball games, recounting missions in the 'hood, fights with neighborhood toughs, being in the middle of your childhood while the crack epidemic hit the streets of the Bronx and forever changed the dynamics and economy of the hood. Surviving life endagering run-ins and memorable close escapes and gettin' caught out there too! Like the time my grandmother told me not to go past the gate and I cut my stomach trying to sneak out over the top of fence because the squeaky gate would have alerted her to my "high-level prison break"??? Priceless. These are classic moments! Good ol' Gun Hill Road! BX escapades! Ahhhhhhh, those were the days!
Picture three brother's reminiscing, eating, drinking, cooling out, playing music and just kicking it about literally everything under the sun! It was the dopeness. We went from being mostly good little kids back in the day, except for me of course -- I was the one who always had to touch the stove to see exactly HOW HOT WAS HOT-- all the way to becoming grown-ass men with degrees, companies, bills and mortgages ! What a journey it has been and what a journey it is going to be! I cant wait to see how much better this gets! Can y'all tell I'm still charged? I mean when was the last time you laughted til your stomach was killing you and your sides were hurting? Cant recall? I highly recommend it.
Its a running joke in our family that yours truly screamed bloody murder when he got his butt handed to him by our no nonsense lots-of-love, tough-as-nails Jamaican Pops up in the Bronx. Why? A direct and willfull infraction of a parental edict issued LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE!
The word came down from the mouth of my father like. this "Son! You must stay away from that Fight Streeter game! I don't like the element hanging out there at that store!" Nonetheless, I couldnt resist the rapid seizure inducing rapid 16 bit electronic graphics! I mean it was 16 bits! The entrancing video game caused me to stayriveted to the floor for WAY beyond the normal time it takes to buy a Sunday paper. Dad let me have it and rightly so. Trust, when people say the essence of comedy is other people's pain. THEY ARE RIGHT! I think the neighborsfour floors down even heard the craziness of my hide getting tanned about ten shades darker. And I'm already a walking piece of midnight to start with! Ah, that surrounded arcade in that wee bodega! The lesson learned? Comeuppance.
Whats better than having genuine brothers to share the good, bad and awful times with people? Not a thing! The Brotherhood? Yeah, I reps for that to the death. BIG UPS Vic, Laurence oh and JP, Rich, Duane and Vaughn! Two by blood, Four who may as well be. Nuff respect fam! 1!

INTENTIONS: Making the The Major Motion Picture... LIFE
What is good people! What a perfect blogging day! Damp and rainy, lazy Sunday in the city! I tell ya, things just keep getting better! So my good peoples, Lex Lyric is back to formulate thoughts in to coherent clauses fresh-dipped in high concentrations of lexplosive dopeness!
Today, I have got to address INTENTIONS. Simply stated: realities we wish to occur. Intentions represent the worlds we would like to live in and our inclination to take ourselves there via our action or inaction. Intentions direct how we see the motion picture of our lives coming together or unfolding. Will it be a tragedy? A comedy? A morality tale? A stream of consciousness? An action movie? Drama? Nobody knows, but ourselves and we sure do hope it comes out well for us in the end! We all want to get the money, the girl/guy and vanquish our enemies/ challenges, drive off in to the sunset and maybe experience some meaningful personal growth in the process. However, what we see coming to pass in our mind's eye very often does not jive with our present reality... AT ALL! WHY IS THAT?
Well, I'm glad you asked! Allow me to elucidate, to stay with our"movie" metaphor. Everyone is directing their own movie on the SAME LOT! There is direct and indirect interference, background noise and othre actor/ directors attempting to gettheir own personal visions on to the "silver screen" of the real world! So the determining factor of who's intentions win out has predominantly to do with TWO basic qualities: CLARITY OF VISION and PERSISTENCE OF ACTION TOWARD THE FULFILLMENT OF A STATED PURPOSE.
Those who get to "make the picture" keep the above in mind relentlessly and consistently. Then we quite literally find ourselves living within THEIR expanded visions that began at the seed stage as a clear picture of a reality that had not yet come to pass. Intentions people, powerful stuff! Get focused and real clear on what your ideal life looks like then go about creating it with a RELENTLESS WORK ETHIC AND A STEADY HAND. In case you were waiting for this: You now offically have permission by decree of His Lexcellency to GO FORTH AND DO THE DAMN THING!
See the end from the start, INTENTIONS! So let it be written... so let it be DONE!
Til the next... EZ*

EVERYTIME THE SUN COMES UP: A NEW BEGINNING
Welcome to THE LEXPLOSIVE!
This blog will be a continous, real-time testament to The Life & Times of Lex Lyric aka Lex Getit. Basically my life is lived on the razor's edge between art and commerce. I am the bridge between two worlds. My passions are in Media (particularly radio), the Arts and Finance. Welcome to my life.
The people places and thoughts that travel through THE LIFE LEX LYRICAL (www.myspace.com/lexlyric) will include but are by no means limited to motifs such as AGGRESSIVE OPTIMISM, CREATIVITY and THE GLORIES OF TRUTH, DISCIPLINE & DOPENESS. If you can get with that, then stay tuned. Things are about to get VERY INTERESTING!
The fires of my mind burn hotter than ten furnaces and I will be providing you the heat of my passions RIGHT HERE. Consider this the hearth where the bellows of my mind will enflame your passions daily.
